A record crowd attended the BEF Luncheon March 10, 2011.

The fifth annual Baldwin Education Foundation Luncheon raised more than $5,200 for the Baldwin Education Foundation Innovative Project Grants.  Boeing Chief Test Pilot and 1973 BHS graduate Mike Carriker offered the keynote address.  “I want to thank the Baldwin Education Foundation for giving me the opportunity to say thank you to my hometown for all that you have done for me and my family,” Carriker said.  ” You never know when passion or inspration is going to come and that’s what is great about the Baldwin Education Foundation.  You never know when that little trigger is going to do something to inspire them for the rest of their life.  Maybe it’s that one little program that is funded by the Baldwin Education Foundation,” Carriker said in his address at the luncheon.

The Coach Merle Venable Sports Complex was also formally dedicate at the luncheon.  Coach Venable was honored by many of his former players.  “It was his interest outside of football that made him great,” Mike Carriker said of Coach Venable.
