Scholarships

The Baldwin Education Foundation is proud to administer three scholarships that are awarded to graduating Baldwin High School Seniors.

The Baldwin Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship was established a number of years ago by an anonymous donor.  The $500 scholarships are awarded to a Baldwin High School Senior boy and girl based on academics, achievement, leadership, character qualities and financial need.  Students should contact the BHS Counselor’s office for application information.

The Merle Venable Scholarship Fund

The Merle Venable Scholarship was started in the Spring of 2011 by former players and friends to honor former BHS Coach Merle Venable.  Memorials honoring Steve Venable, the son of Coach Merle and Janet Venable were also placed in this scholarship fund in the Spring of 2012.  The scholarship is awarded to a Baldwin High School senior boy or girl who has participated in high school athletics. Maintains at least a 3.0 grade point average and plans to attend a post-secondary program.  Interested Baldwin High School Seniors should contact the BHS Counselor’s office for application details.

 Daniel J. DeAno Scholarship

The Daniel J. DeAno Scholarship was first awarded in May 2014. The scholarship is in memory of the brother of a BHS teacher, Jill Venable. Proceeds from donations to a 5K walk that Mrs. Venable held to raise awareness of depression and mental illness have been used to fund the scholarship. A $1000 scholarship was awarded in 2014 to two BHS Seniors that plan to pursue a career in mental health. Interested Baldwin High School Seniors should contact the BHS Counselor’s office for application details.
